This is what I have been telling myself, over and over until I FINALLY started listening!
Shoes, comfy clothes, tunes, check..
S – t – r – e – t- c – h
run jog fast walk with me ..
It’s been such a long time since my shoes have hit this path. I know not to push myself too hard. I start at a considerable pace but work up to a reasonably fast stride, I could almost be jogging I am walking that fast .. I go slow in parts but pick up the pace in others, as fast as you can to the next light post that kind of thing.
I run to a point then slacken back to a slow interval and I know I have lost my fitness, all that hard work (mind you so long ago) wasted by my recent laziness but I push on .. No use dwelling on my past efforts for I have done it. I MADE the time, I got out there and I got moving!
5km done and dusted and boy did it feel great! Energy spent but received twice-fold, I powered through the afternoon and it was definitely less of a struggle to fall asleep that night, for sure.
And now that I’ve got out there, I am more than motivated to get out there and do it again!
